August Darnell is so much more than just Kid Creole and the Coconuts. He started out his professional career as an English teacher in Long Island before jumping ship and joining his big brother, Stony Browder Jr., in Dr Buzzard's Original Savannah Band. In 1980, Darnell jumped ship one more time and his new persona, Kid Creole was born. 40 years later and after 17 albums, 32 singles and 8 compilations, Darnell is celebrating a huge and successful career. In 1983, Kid released his fourth album entitled 'Doppelganger'. Volume Four of 'Call Me Mister Lyrical' contains all the words to all the songs.
